It's Chai Time ~ Israeli Honey Cake

Just a quick post about one of the most delicious cakes ever. Seriously, this traditional israeli cake is moist, soft and full of flavors which makes this cake taste just amazing.

Israeli Honey Cake

3 eggs
lemon juice
1/2 cup oil
1 cup honey
1 cup hot coffee
2 cups flour
1 cup semolina
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground ginger

Preheat oven to 175degC. Beat eggs together with lemon juice, oil, honey and coffee. Combine flour, baking powder, semolina, sugar and spices. Add to wet mixture and beat it in until combined. Pour into prepared round pan and bake for 30 minutes. 


15 tabsp water
15 tabsp sugar
3 tabsp honey
lemon juice
almond slices for sprinkling

Combine ingredients in small saucepan and bring to boil. Let boil until sugar dissolves. Pour over hot cake very slowly and prinkle with sliced almonds.
